Herschel Walker visits the GSHF!

We are happy to announce that for the next four months, the GSHF will be home to an incredible, larger-than-life bronze sculpture of UGA Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker.

Wrightsville, Georgia’s hometown hero, in his first year as a Georgia Bulldog running back, Walker set the NCAA freshman rushing record with a total of 1,616 yards, leading the ‘Dawgs to an undefeated season and the school’s first-ever national football championship. He went on to set 10 NCAA records during his illustrious college football career before rising to conquer the pros. Counting his years playing professional football for both the (now defunct) USFL and the NFL, Walker retired from football in 1997 with the highest total of all purpose yards of any professional football player before him.

The remarkable sculpture was created by internationally renowned Athens artist Stan Mullins. Please visit Mr. Mullins on Facebook or at stanmullins.com.
