On this day in 1905, All-American and All-Pro football player, Thomas Acton (Tom) Nash was born in Lincoln County, Georgia.

Raised in Washington, Georgia, Tom played college football for the University of Georgia Bulldogs from 1925 through 1927, holding a spot on the 1927 “Dream and Wonder” team. He was drafted to play professionally with the Green Bay Packers from 1929 through 1932, which included 3 NFL Championships for the team.

Rounding out his sports career, Tom also played AA and AAA baseball in the Minor Leagues and closed his career coaching on both high school and college levels.

Tom Nash was inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 1972.
